Amplicon Elf Day raises £1,000 for Alzheimers

On December 12th, Amplicon held an Elf Day in aid of Alzheimer’s Society. Elf Day is an easy way to raise money for people affected by dementia while spreading some festive cheer.

The day consisted of a variety of games with prizes up for grabs, along with a delicious bake sale.

Amplicon employees and family members contributed by preparing a mixture of sweet and savoury dishes to help raise donations. Everyone got creative with their ideas; amongst all the deliciously prepared foods there were festive mince pies, brownies, caramel shortbread, a banana loaf & carrot cake, cheese scones, tuna pie, Indian Kachori and plantain. Who knew there were so many hidden bakers at Amplicon.

Everyone fully got involved with the Elf theme, people dug out all their festive accessories and jumpers to match the Christmas fun. For the few who didn’t participate, they were provided with a Scrooge pass, for a suitable donation.

Mandi Dennis won ‘guess the Elf name’, Jastine Esteban won best dressed and Emma Tran was the runner up. Each of the winners won a bottle of bubbly, just in time for Christmas.

There were also many generous donations put towards ‘Elf the boss’ which consisted of our CEO Gina Citroni dressed up in an Elf dress for the entire day, hilarious!

It was a fun-filled day at Amplicon in support of such a well-deserved charity.. This particular cause is very close to many at Amplicon as close family and friends have been affected by this, as yet untreatable disease.

By the end of the day, Team Amplicon had raised an amazing £1000. The funds will go towards finding treatments, research and care for the sufferers. All donations raised from Elf Day are set to help the Alzheimer’s Society reach their target of £500,000 by July 2020.
