Amplicon raises over £2,600 for local charities

2020-21 has been an extraordinary time with many businesses and organisations across the globe battling uncertainties and hardships during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In this difficult period, it has become increasingly important that we support charitable causes and Amplicon has continued to persevere in raising money for various charities including The Guide Dogs, Cancer Research UK and the Martlets Hospice

This year, Amplicon has been able to raise a total of £2,680 through the hard work of the Sales team, who receive ‘big order tokens’ for every £10,000 order they book. Each token equates to £10, which they can then donate to one of the three charities chosen for the year.

For the past 7 years, this initiative has continued to be one of the principal ways for Amplicon to support the local community and during this period they have managed to raise over £22,000. Amplicon is committed to maintain fundraising by extending their support in this year to three more charities: The Children with Cancer Fund, The Martlets hospice and Know Dementia

Susi Owusu, Martlets Partnerships & Philanthropy Manager commented: “We are so grateful for the continued fundraising support of Amplicon particularly given this challenging year for businesses.  To hear they have raised the fantastic amount of £710 was a wonderful surprise!  A huge thank you to all the hard-working engineers who voted to support Martlets and to Amplicon for their generosity.  These much needed funds will help us to keep caring for terminally ill patients and their families in our community.”

Siobhan Meade, a guide dog owner and spokesperson for the charity Guide Dogs said: “I want to say a huge thank you to all at Amplicon for supporting Guide Dogs. Having lost all of my sight at the age of 16, I know that the work the charity does makes the difference between independence and seclusion. This is a wonderful donation, which will go to supporting blind and visually impaired people”.

Lynn Daly, spokeswoman for Cancer Research UK in Sussex, said: “Our work has been hit hard by the pandemic. Unfortunately cancer didn’t stop during the pandemic.  So we’re hugely grateful to everyone at Amplicon who has taken time to support our life-saving work – and it will help save lives.”
