The ever popular EDS-405A/408A series of managed Ethernet switches have been improved to have full Ethernet/IP support. With Ethernet/IP enabled, these switches are now pre-configured for plug-and-play operation, and also visible with a custom faceplate in FactoryTalk® View industrial management software, for greater operational and network visibility in factory automation HMI. These new models are available in five and eight port versions, the EDS-405A-EIP and the EDS-408A-EIP.

The AWK-1121 and AWK-1127 are dedicated WLAN client adaptors, designed to keep costs down and be a natural fit for industrial applications where space is at a premium. The AWK-1121 model allows for Ethernet based wired equipment to communicate with IEEE 802.11 a/b/g networks, the AWK-1127 model has an additional serial port interface supporting RS-232/422/485 communication.

Optimised for industrial applications requiring a dedicated wireless client, the AWK-1121 and AWK-1127 are designed to cater for space constrained, mission critical demands. Many WLAN products on the market are multi-function devices, these models serve as dedicated wireless clients only, reducing cost and minimising the overall size and weight of the unit.

Niaz Ahmed is the newest entrant to the Amplicon Data Communications team; he joined us in January 2012 as a Trainee Sales Engineer.

Niaz completed his Masters degree at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden in Engineering & Management of Information Systems (EMIS) where he gained a distinction in his M.Sc. thesis.

After his graduation Niaz worked for Gazi Communications, a Data Communications and Network solutions provider as a Brand Executive for the renowned comms brand ‘ZyXel’.
