Amplicon have recently launched an industrial computer branding service. This service allows customers to instantly generate a custom front door design including customer logo and bespoke colour scheme for Amplicon's wide range of rackmount PCs.

Many system integrators and OEMs use Amplicon's rackmount PCs as a platform for industrial systems such as security DVRs and NVRs, SCADA terminals and Automated Test Systems. Amplicon build to the customer's specification adding plug-in cards and network switches as required by the end application.

For 30 years GPIB (or HPIB) has been the high speed communications interface between Test & Measurement instruments and a computer. However, there is a new technology called LXI, which uses industry standard Ethernet technology for communication.

LXI was developed to offer the size and integration advantages of VXI and PXI modular instruments, without the constraints and costs of card cage architectures. Test & Measurement users may find they already have LXI instruments without realising it, since many new instruments come with Ethernet ports, and these have often been upgraded to LXI.

Amplicon currently offer a number of LXI compliant devices, including the Agilent 6000L oscilloscopes and 34980A data acquisition systems. They come with a web browser for control and access to measurements, along with IVI.COM drivers for integration with automated test programs.

Over the recent months Amplicon has seen improving sales activity from the international team.

To support our growing international presence, Amplicon will be looking to appoint new distributors and offices, building on an already successful distribution channel.
