Remote Terminal Unit Solution for Power application
Remote Terminal Unit Solution for Power application The Amplicon Engineering Services (AES) team were recently involved in a project to build a multiple Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) system for a multi-national power company. There was a wide range of analogue and digital signals to measure and control, including single and three phase power measurements.

The challenge faced by the AES team was to provide a solution that could log the data locally and accept a wide range of sensors; it also had to be compact and capable of transmitting data to a central control room by WAN and a cellular network.

Learn more about the products and services Amplicon offered to provide a complete RTU solution delivered to the client site ready for installation at the flick of a switch!

Impact-E 70 series now -20°C to +60°C
The ever-popular Amplicon Impact-E 72/73 embedded computer has been redesigned to support a wider industrial operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. This staggering increase allows the Impact-E 70 series to lend itself to a wide portfolio of industrial applications and will only enhance its strong reputation for reliability and performance within harsh environments.

Powered by the Intel iCore processor family and backed by iAMT and vPRO technology, the fanless Impact-E 70 series provides a wide variety of I/O configurations and interfaces including two Intel Gigabit Ethernet ports, 5x COM ports, 6x USB ports, 8x GPIO, 2x internal SATAII ports, 2x external eSATA ports, audio interfaces, and an option for a versatile in-vehicle ignition module.

The Impact-E has been used in a huge variety of applications from being housed in a road side cabinet to being strapped to the underside of a train carriage!

Extend PoE+ with Power over Link technology
Extend PoE+ with Power over Link technology
When paired together, the ED3538T and the ED3538R can extend an Ethernet network and PoE+ power up to 1.2km across pre-existing copper cabling, providing data rates of up to 100Mbps and power levels as high as 30 Watts.

One of the common issues encountered when installing Ethernet extenders is power availability at the remote location, the ED3538T/R extender system completely removes this problem with the use of Power over Link (PoL) technology. When these extenders are installed in a point-to-point topology, only the local end of the link requires a power supply, power and data are sent along the copper cabling, powering the remote extender unit and any PoE+ compliant end device.

Interested? We thought so, to find out more about this unique technology and its benefits, please read our latest PoL application note.
New compact universal sink/source transmitters
New compact universal sink/source transmitters
The Amplicon Measurement & Control division has announced the launch of the new TT230 series. The TT230 series of compact two-wire transmitters provide isolation and convert thermocouple, RTD, voltage or current sensor inputs into a proportional 4-20mA output signal. This series are loop-powered and support both source or sink output wiring connections on the current loop with a 12-32V DC supply.

The TT230 series features a wide operating temperature range of -40 to 85°C, fast response time, electrical noise immunity, and surge protection; essential for consistent performance in harsh environments. These transmitters are DIN-rail mountable and are easily setup and calibrated using the free Windows configuration software.

To celebrate the launch of the new TT230 series, Amplicon is currently offering 10% discount on the 600T series transmitters!
