EtherCAT is currently the fastest industrial Ethernet protocol that can synchronise with nanosecond accuracy. This is achieved by the EtherCAT Master being the only node allowed to actively send an EtherCAT frame. All slave nodes can only forward or add data into the frame as it is moving. This concept guarantees real-time capability as the frames only delay will be the hardware propagation delay.
The ECAT-2000 series from ICP DAS are fully compatible with the EtherCAT protocol and come with two RJ45 connection ports. Dual RJ45 ports give you flexibility for device installation and will reduce your infrastructure and operation costs. All of the ECAT-2000 series can be deployed in common network topologies such as star, line or ring and all of the inputs and outputs are isolated to protect the units against harmful interference.
