Impact-P Application: Manufacturing

Our customer, a shell mould casting company, approached Amplicon with the requirement of replacing a number of non-Amplicon computers that kept overheating.

The shell casting industry requires high electronics precision and trusted Amplicon as their partner of choice for this project thanks to our wealth of experience supplying Embedded PC solutions to industry.

The Impact-P was the perfect solution to control our clients' shelling process. Connecting to the customer's HMI, the embedded PC’s needed to be mounted in a hot and compact space behind a large LCD. These requirements made it clear that an extended temperature system with the appropriate components was required.

The new Impact-P 101A comes with an ultra-small form factor and supports a -40°C to 85°C operating temperature range making it perfect for such an application. Following a successful trial onsite utilising an Impact-P 101A demo unit, our client proceeded to place an order for a number of units.
